In Catawba County's Sherrills Ford, the same home costs $1,993. That is a $3,407 annual difference on the same lake.

The other Mooresville surprise is the school district. Mooresville Graded School District (MGSD) is a small, independent city-only district that serves addresses within town limits. It is completely separate from Iredell-Statesville Schools (ISS), which serves the rest of Iredell County. The two districts overlap within Mooresville, creating a patchwork where one side of a street may be MGSD and the other ISS.
